'Tis Only the Splendor of Light Hideth Thee

I see life through glasses
so I see lens flare
At the touch of the sun
rays diffract through the glass
and they shine
glowing columns hiding what lies behind

I see life through glasses
covered in tiny motes of dust
and never notice the dust
until the sun falls on it
and it gleams
obstructing my vision

I see life with weak eyes
which cannot handle so much light
When I look at the sun
I am dazzled
and I see phantom colored spots
that never existed

I can only see that the sun is round
when it is hidden behind a cloud

I can only see that God is love
when Love is cloaked in human form
